Campaign Issues

Why are you running for this office?
I am concerned with confidence the residents of Shelby Township have in their elected officials.
What skillsets and real life experience do you have that makes you the best candidate for the role?
My duties as a Senior Logistician for the US Army include the analyzing and coordinating the logistical functions of my organization. I am responsible for the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal of resources. Further, my diverse educational background positively impacts my ability to evaluate any issue that arises. (Bachelors of Science in Marketing (Oakland University); Masters of Business Administration with concentration in Finance (Wayne State University); Masters of Arts in Economics with a concentration in Industrial and Labor Economics (Wayne State University)
What are the top three issues you are concerned with for your district/municipality?
  1. Increase the presence of new businesses within Shelby Township
  2. Restore confidence in government
  3. Ensure fiscal responsibility
What are the solutions you will bring forward if elected?
As a young Republican and Friedman Economist, I bring a unique perspective to the trustee position. I intend on keeping an open mind on all issues. I am a proponent of free markets and an opponent of big government. If elected trustee, I intend on applying these principals to help the city flourish economically.
What specific measures will you take to maintain low taxes and less expensive, limited government?
I intend on evaluating the township workforce and reduce it through attrition, and eliminate automatic pay increases. Further, I shall propose an internal audit of the current pension program and labor unions as a whole. In reference to maintaining low taxes, I intend on working with members of the Macomb County government to not only reduce property taxes but also incentivize business relocation to Shelby Township.
If elected, what will you do to better promote transparency in government?
I intend on proposing an open question and answer session (dictated by of residents) of the board at each meeting.
Have you received any endorsements?  If so, please list.

Party Issues

Why are you a running as a Republican?
The fundamental belief of the Republican Party in upholding the Constitution is paramount in my belief in the party.
What prior involvement have you had in the Republican Party or Conservative organizations?
What is your position on Obamacare?
I am a strong opponent of the Affordable Care Act in part due to the inevitable increase in power of the federal government, and the inherent reduction of individual liberties. The ability of the federal government to dictate what its citizens must purchase, I believe, is far from what our founding fathers envisioned.
What is your position on abortion?
I am pro-choice
What is your position on the 2nd Amendment?
I am a proponent of the right to bear arms.
What is your position on public sector unions?
I am opposed to labor unions as a whole due to their negative effect on prevailing wage rates, unemployment rates etc., ) on the labor market(s) as a whole.

State/County/Local Issues

What are the two biggest issues you feel Macomb County is facing today?
UnemploymentIncreasing government power
Do you think Macomb County should have casinos?
What is your position on the Ambassador bridge project?
I am a proponent; I do not support the current monopoly power provided to the current Ambassador Bridge by the State.
What is your position on special millages like the DIA or Zoo millages?
I defer judgment to that of the voters.
