Forlini Co-Hosts Bipartisan Public Forum to Address Crumbling Roads

Monday, February 13, 2012 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

Macomb ISD
44001 Garfield Rd., Clinton Township, MI

Contact: Representative Forlini’s office at (888) 347-8024, or

Event Information:
Please join Representative Marilyn Lane and Representative Anthony Forlini for a bipartisan discussion of how to pay for Michigan’s and Macomb County’s infrastructure needs in the future.

Topics for the meeting include the state of our crumbling roads and the governor’s proposal on how to generate money for road maintenance and new road projects in Macomb County.

“Michigan’s roads are disintegrating and there’s no long- or short-term plan in place to make the needed repairs,” Lane said.

Forlini added: “I want assurances that the current funding for infrastructure is not going behind a desk, but is actually being spent on our roads.”

Forlini and Lane will act as moderators during the forum.  Audience members will direct questions and concerns to a panel consisting of:

Vice-Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation

Standing House Committee on Transportation

Director of Roads, Macomb County Department of Roads

Manager of Macomb Transportation Center, Michigan Department Transportation

Civil Engineer, Vice Chair of Businesses for Better Transportation
