Campaign Issues

Why are you running for this office?
Local government and community volunteer work is the best way I can serve my community, set a good example and make positive differences for my kids.
What skillsets and real life experience do you have that makes you the best candidate for the role?
  • 15 years of experience in real estate, home financing, property taxes, notarizing contracts and serving the public.
  • Proven success in updating municipal policy, balancing budgets and establishing financial transparency
  • Extensive experience in business development, small business consulting and the development and use of new technologies
  • Successful background in both athletics and business management
What are the top three issues you are concerned with for your district/municipality?
  1. Commerce – Too many buildings are sitting empty, creating a great eye sore, huge liabilities and loss of jobs & cash flow
  2. Housing – Property values have dropped for 5 straight years.  Foreclosures have badly hurt our housing market
  3. Technology / Efficiency/Regulations – Residents want an easier way to manage their accounts and run their businesses
What are the solutions you will bring forward if elected?
  1. Continue streamlining the process, actively prospect for new businesses though solicitation, meetings and aggressive proposals
  2. Partner with real estate/ mortgage professionals to bolster housing with marketing, incentives and homebuyer education
  3. Grant residents full online access to Twp finances… including auto-pay and mobile apps.
What specific measures will you take to maintain low taxes and less expensive, limited government?
  1. Work towards the occupation, re-purposing or removal of the vacant commercial property in our community
  2. Support revenue-generating services that will take the tax burden off of our residents
  3. Continue to streamline the process, lift regulations and make it easier for businesses
If elected, what will you do to better promote transparency in government?
Give residents full access to twp finances.  Show them how much money is in their account, where it is being invested, how it is performing and what it costs to manage it.  Allow the use of auto payments and mobile apps to access and manage personal accounts.
Have you received any endorsements?  If so, please list.
A perfect score in my support of protecting the unborn with Lifespan.

Party Issues

Why are you a running as a Republican?
I believe in conservative, family values, limiting government regulations, protecting civil liberties and promoting small business
What prior involvement have you had in the Republican Party or Conservative organizations?
Candidate and Volunteer since 2010
What is your position on Obamacare?
It is not about health care.  It was sold to lawmakers and to public supports on very few ideals that directly affect healthcare reform.  The trillions of dollars in earmarks and un-related pet projects funded by this bill void its validity.  Although the Supreme Court did not concur, I do not believe in healthcare mandates
What is your position on abortion?
The un-born child shall have the same rights as you or me.
What is your position on the 2nd Amendment?
We have a constitution and bill of rights for a reason.  Our founding fathers and all of the men and women that served this country with their lives, intended for us to have freedom and uncompromised civil liberties.
What is your position on public sector unions?
I have mixed feelings about labor unions.  Although they have their place philosophically, we need to be careful.  Union members are still voters.  They need to understand what they are voting for and the effect that proposed policies have on the community. It may not be possible in Michigan, but I’d like to see union mandates lifted for workers and PAC influences limited in government.

State/County/Local Issues

What are the two biggest issues you feel Macomb County is facing today?
Jobs and Housing
Do you think Macomb County should have casinos?
No
What is your position on the Ambassador bridge project?
If it creates jobs and brings in revenues, I would support it. However, I do not believe that the Governor should initiate or fund this project without proper support from the State Congress.
What is your position on special millages like the DIA or Zoo millages?
The DIA and the Zoo are great, but they need to be self sufficient entities.  Better marketing, cleaner facilities and independent fund raising are more appropriate methods to funding the DIA and the Zoo, than taxing residents in surrounding cities and townships.
