Campaign Issues

Why are you running for this office?
To continue my effort to keep Ray Township an affordable and pleasant place to live in
What skillsets and real life experience do you have that makes you the best candidate for the role?
Business school graduate with majors in accounting and business law. Owned my own business over 30 years. 10 years experience as Ray Township Supervisor
What are the top three issues you are concerned with for your district/municipality?
  1. Continue to be financially responsible and operate the Township finances at a surplus as in all previous years.
  2. Allow by ballot vote the residents a voice in increased police services.
  3. Continue to work toward allowing future developments to have access to the County Sewer System and avoiding discharges to streams
What are the solutions you will bring forward if elected?
  1. Balanced budgets and controlled spending.
  2. Ballot proposal on November ballot
  3. Inter-governmental agreements with neighboring communities who have sewers
What specific measures will you take to maintain low taxes and less expensive, limited government?
Keeping expenses below budget even withdeclining revenues
If elected, what will you do to better promote transparency in government?
We are totaling transparent as of now.

Why are you a running as a Republican?
I have been a republican my entire life.
What prior involvement have you had in the Republican Party or Conservative organizations?
What is your position on Obamacare?
Needs to be defunded and rewritten if we can afford some of the parts without new taxes and within budget.
What is your position on abortion?
Pro-life
What is your position on the 2nd Amendment?
Needs to be preserved
What is your position on public sector unions?
All employees should be treated alike whether in the public or private sector. We need adjustments in both if we want to grow jobs.

State/County/Local Issues

What are the two biggest issues you feel Macomb County is facing today?
Aging population, declining infrastructure and jobs for younger persons whether educated or not.
Do you think Macomb County should have casinos?
No
What is your position on the Ambassador bridge project?
It is hard to pin down the pro and con. If it will truly expand trade I am for it
What is your position on special millages like the DIA or Zoo millages?
I prefer to keep our money at home where we have control over it.
