Campaign Issues

Why are you running for this office?
Maintain and improve the current state of the township.  Continue to execute smart decisions and work to improve our overall economic viability.
What skillsets and real life experience do you have that makes you the best candidate for the role?
I have been an Information Technology Manger in the health care industry for 13 years.  I manage a staff of 45 technicians and manage a budget of over 20 million annually.  I possess a bachelor of Business Administration/Business leadership.
What are the top three issues you are concerned with for your district/municipality?
Execution of the new Harrison Township Master Plan

Keep Selfridge ANGB a viable active government managed air base

Continue to look at ways to streamline township services

What are the solutions you will bring forward if elected?
Partnering with local municipalities must be explored to determine if streamlining services can minimize costs while maximizing services.

Offer local businesses flexibility to make improvements to their business operations in order to spur growth in revenue and job creation.

Complete local Bike Paths to connect township neighborhoods and to encourage recreation and personal fitness.

What specific measures will you take to maintain low taxes and less expensive, limited government?
Continue to explore ways to streamline services.  Look towards technology to fill gaps in financial shortfalls.
If elected, what will you do to better promote transparency in government?
It has always been the policy of the township board to address all expenditures and process in a public setting.
Have you received any endorsements?  If so, please list.

Party Issues

Why are you a running as a Republican?
Party of choice
What prior involvement have you had in the Republican Party or Conservative organizations?
Not actively involved
What is your position on Obamacare?
Neutral at this time
What is your position on abortion?
I am a pro-life advocate
What is your position on the 2nd Amendment?
I feel everyone has the right to bear arms.  I am very concerned about ‘open carry’.
What is your position on public sector unions?
Unions and government administrators must continue to partner in order to succeed in the current economic environment, and beyond.  I see unions taking ownership of their position in government and contracts and partnering with administrators to meet financial targets.  Everyone must understand that working collectively to obtain a common goal or financial level will assure success and provide long term viability for all.

State/County/Local Issues

What are the two biggest issues you feel Macomb County is facing today?
I think that Macomb County has always been a jewel that was never marketed for its vast beauty, serenity and water front areas.  I think the current campaign to promote Macomb County is welcomed.

Keeping Selfridge ANGB a viable entity within Macomb County should be a top priority.

Do you think Macomb County should have casinos?
No
What is your position on the Ambassador bridge project?
I believe a new bridge is needed to accommodate current commerce volumes and will promote future growth.
What is your position on special millages like the DIA or Zoo millages?
Culturally, I believe in these two institutions, although I am concerned that Metro Detroit Area residents are being asked to financially help support them while we face the worst economic downturn since the great depression.
