Campaign Issues

Why are you running for this office?
I am seeding the position of Bruce Township Treasurer to bring innovation, eagerness and an open mind to this office.  The residents of Bruce Township deserve another Board Member who is willing to work hard to help reduce the monumental sewer debt, evaluate procedures and policies and defend our master plan.
What skillsets and real life experience do you have that makes you the best candidate for the role?
I have been a Public Servant for over 30 years with a diverse background in governmental operations and I want to do more that the basic  requirements of the job.
What are the top three issues you are concerned with for your district/municipality?
The three top issues that I am concerned about are the monumental sewer debt, evaluating the Treasurer’s Office for efficiency and preserving our Master Plan.
What are the solutions you will bring forward if elected?
If elected my solutions for the reduction of the sewer debt are to enhance and market our industrial district to get customers who will purchase the amenities to increase our revenue.  The Treasurer’s Office has been doing things the “Old Fashion Way” for many years, I would evaluate and update procedures and policies to improve service while reducing spending.  I want to apply my background in Government and Planning and Zoning to ensure that Bruce Townships rural character and heritage continues on for the next generation.
What specific measures will you take to maintain low taxes and less expensive, limited government?
I will continue to evaluate and update procedures to maintain low taxes and less expensive, limited government.
If elected, what will you do to better promote transparency in government?
To promote better transparency in government I would continue to ensure that all governmental meetings are televised and governmental information is available to residents except excluded information that is private or protected.
