RCNMC Announces Results of Presidential Straw Poll

MACOMB TOWNSHIP, MI – The Republican Committee of Northern Macomb County (RCNMC) held a Presidential Straw Poll at their 2011 Reagan Leadership Dinner fundraiser on Tuesday, August 30, 2011. The event was attended by 500 Republicans from the northern Macomb County area and surrounding communities.

The following are the results of the straw poll:

  • Rick Perry41.9% Rick Perry
  • 26.4% Mitt Romney
  • 9.4% Ron Paul
  • 9.1% Michele Bachmann
  • 3.4% Thaddeus McCotter
  • 2.6% Rick Santorum
  • 2.3% Newt Gingrich
  • 1.5% Herman Cain
  • 0.4% Gary Johnson
  • 0.0% Jon Huntsman
  • 3.0% Other

“This is a clear read on what candidates the North Macomb area is gravitating toward to elect a candidate who will beat Barack Obama in 2012,” said RCNMC Chairman Rob Montilla.

The RCNMC is a political action committee focused on building, organizing and energizing a strong Republican Party in northern Macomb County. The organization’s goal is to elect Republicans at all levels of the government with emphasis of effort given at the local level.

Come volunteer at the Armada Fair to show how Republicans support local events. Volunteers are needed to assist in staffing a Macomb County Republican sponsored booth in order to hand out information to the public.

The booth will be manned from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday, August 15-Sunday, August 21. Any volunteer willing to help is asked to fill shifts of either two hours or four hours. If you can help or have any questions, please contact Joe Biondo at 586-243-0403.
